Florida law requires nurses, LPNs, and social workers to complete a course on domestic violence once every third renewal and before the first licensure renewal. In addition, certified nursing assistants must receive domestic violence training once every two years.

LeadingAge Florida’s new patient safety training program is designed for long-term care staff education by focusing on recognizing system errors. It provides excellent recommendations to identify and reduce potential medical errors. The course provides numerous ways to prevent error-prone situations and improve patient outcomes. Topics cover include: medication safety systems, culture of safety and employee practices.
 

The course was developed in response to Section 456.013 (7), F.S. requiring Florida health care professionals to take a two hour medical course for licensure renewal. This program will meet the two hour requirement for renewal. Our course includes a post¬test, which once completed and passed, provides two hour continuing education credits.

Target Audience: LPNs, RNs, Nursing Home Administrators, Risk Managers, Consultants, and Social Workers

This four-tape video course, written and developed by ACTS, Inc., will provide your entire staff with resident abuse training education, a test and two hours of continuing education credits.  This course provides an interactive teaching approach to the prevention and detection of resident abuse.  After watching these videos you staff will be able to:

1. Identify educational challenges in long-term care;
2. Discuss history of RAPP; 
3. Describe methodology, benefits, and challenges of RAPP; and 
4. Identify the components of abuse through the use of video-based scenarios.
