Who We Are

The Florida Association of Homes and Services for the Aging (FAHSA) was established in 1963 as a Florida not-for-profit corporation.  Its purpose is to provide leadership, advocacy, and education for retirement housing and nursing home communities that serve the needs of Florida's retirees. FAHSA is committed to assisting its members in providing the highest quality of services possible to the residents they serve.  To accomplish its purpose, the association provides up-to-date information, education, representation, group services, and networking as well as prompt, efficient service to the professional staff of its member communities.

The association is comprised of approximately 500 of the state's premier elder care organizations and business associates.  More than 70,000 elder persons reside in FAHSA-member communities.  Thousands more are served through home health services, adult day care centers, and other community outreach programs offered by our members.  FAHSA members are economic engines, providing an estimated 25,000 jobs statewide.    Thay are sponsored primarily by community-based nonprofit civic, religious, fraternal, and other quality groups and are mission-driven organizations.

FAHSA’s Vision

To be the leading statewide association representing mission-driven providers of quality elder care services and housing.

FAHSA's Mission

The mission of the Florida Association of Homes and Services for the Aging is to represent and promote the common interests of continuing care retirement communities, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, and affordable supportive housing members through advocacy, education, leadership development and shared services to enhance their ability to serve older or disabled adults.
